Hello — I found your blog as I was researching books to give to MY boy as part of a rite of passage celebration. Would you mind sharing with me what some of the books were? I’m collecting spiritual writings (bible, tao te ching, etc) but am also interested in all kinds of books that stay with a person, in a life-shaping way.

That’s a lovely ritual, thanks for sharing. My oldest son will be hitting 15 soon (blimey) and it seems like every teenage year is a milestone worthy of some kind of rite.

Well done with Liam and his special transition from boy to adolescent. I recognised too that boys need to read more but not many books were specifically written for the Liams of this world as they morph to adulthood. My contribution has been to write three adventure books aimed specifically at boys aged 11-18. The books, Only The Brave Dare, CANYON and the newly released A Rite Of Passage, challenge boys to learn skills to better prepare themselves for manhood. Boys like Liam would appreciate the books as they become the hero who challenges organised crime figures to save his mates; beats his fears in the wilds and finally stands up to be counted when others lives are at dire risk. My books are a coming of age series that boys like Liam would love to read …. as well as their parents.
